Jul 5, 2005 04:27: syarifah syed nor azlan changed "Level" from "Non-PRO" to "PRO"

Votes to reclassify question as PRO/non-PRO:

PRO (3): Fatimah Hassan, Atikah, syarifah syed nor azlan

When entering new questions, KudoZ askers are given an opportunity* to classify the difficulty of their questions as 'easy' or 'pro'. If you feel a question marked 'easy' should actually be marked 'pro', and if you have earned more than 20 KudoZ points, you can click the "Vote PRO" button to recommend that change.

How to tell the difference between "easy" and "pro" questions:

An easy question is one that any bilingual person would be able to answer correctly. (Or in the case of monolingual questions, an easy question is one that any native speaker of the language would be able to answer correctly.)

A pro question is anything else... in other words, any question that requires knowledge or skills that are specialized (even slightly).

Another way to think of the difficulty levels is this: an easy question is one that deals with everyday conversation. A pro question is anything else.

When deciding between easy and pro, err on the side of pro. Most questions will be pro.

* Note: non-member askers are not given the option of entering 'pro' questions; the only way for their questions to be classified as 'pro' is for a ProZ.com member or members to re-classify it.

marzie, additional info just fyi...

- google yields 45 hits for both \"penaja jamin urusan\" and \"pengurus penaja jamin\". this suggests the terms are used simultaneously in msia, probably depending on the preference of different companies/corporations.

- \"penaja jamin urusan\" is the DBP-blessed term. grammatically, it is the more accurate translation.

I have seen this being translated in malay newspater
neutral syarifah syed nor azlan : 'Pengurus Penaja Jamin' would be 'Underwiting Manager' when backtranslated

This is your opinion but I quote is my source, I may scan my source if required, it depend on who the end customer,
neutral Ramona Ali : Agree with Syarifah - and her opinion, which I share, is logical. Remember: your source is just the work of another translator, who could be a really bad translator. So just because it's printed doesn't mean it's valid.

Everyone is entitled to his/her own professional opinion which is valid/invalid. It is at the end of the day whether the client would pay/accept . All prospectus must be approved by Security Commission before it is printed.
