There are ancient graves and potholes there. Explanation: The potholes are referring to a type of geological wonder, not the ones in the road. :) -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 2002-09-12 06:47:42 (GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Here, over many millions of years, a complex of smooth cylindrical potholes has been hollowed out by whirlpools formed at the confluence of the Blyde and Treur Rivers. Here\'s some pictures of hiidenkirnu: http://www.lemi.fi/kunta/polku/polku47.htm http://www.nk.hel.fi/talot/askiskontula/polku/kirnut2.html http://www.lakeudenkutsu.net/pirunpesa.htm -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 2002-09-12 06:48:59 (GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Here\'s the other sentence if you needed that, too: It is possible during the canoe trip to take a look at historical sites. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 2002-09-12 11:29:35 (GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Actually, I think I would change the word order around in this to read: It is possible to take a look at historical sites during the canoe trip. |

You'll find prehistoric graves and a giant's kettle there Explanation: You can call hiidenkirnu as a pothole but that might be a bit misleading. More accurate way to refer to hiidenkirnu is Giant's Kettle. As to muinaishautoja one uses wording prehistoric graves in Finland when refering to graves before historic times. The other sentence is perfect as it is, so I don't suggest any amendments. |
