German term
Extranet
German to English
Tech/Engineering
IT (Information Technology)
Networks
I'm afraid there's no context as this term is taken from an organisation chart. I understand what Etranet means in this case: it's the internal company network. Is this the same as an intranet? And if so, who the hell came up with the term 'Extranet'.

Extranet

: Upper case! But I would not call it an extension.

: Definitely with capital letters (as the Internet), had it recently in a translation myself

: No, neither extranet nor intranet should be capitalized unless at the beginning of a sentence, etc.
