postmature, postmaturity Explanation: Britannica In the **postmature **stage, below about 5,000 metres (16,000 feet), oil is no longer stable, and the main hydrocarbon product is thermal methane gas. The thermal gas is the product of the cracking of the existing liquid hydrocarbons. Those hydrocarbons with a larger chemical structure than that of methane are destroyed much more rapidly than they are formed. Thus, in the sedimentary basins of the world, comparatively little oil is found below 5,000 metres. The deep basins with thick sequences of sedimentary rocks, however, have the potential for deep gas production. USDA page 50 Timing and migration No data are available on maturity of these source rocks. Source rocks buried to depths of from 4,000 to more than 10,000 ft in the synclines are probably mature to post mature. Hydrocarbon generation in the deeper parts of the Basin probably began by Permian time. Migration was coincident with salt movement and anticlinal growth. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 4 hrs (2023-08-20 00:18:11 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- links https://www.britannica.com/science/natural-gas/Origin-of-nat... https://www.fs.usda.gov/Internet/FSE_DOCUMENTS/stelprd383688... overmaturity Explanation: Prefixul supra, din latină, înseamnă peste. https://ro.wiktionary.org/wiki/supra- Multe cuvinte englezești cu acest sens încep cu over: supra- above, over, on top; (anatomy, medicine) superior https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/supra- Exemple: www.proz.com/kudoz/3150934 www.proz.com/kudoz/4573987 www.proz.com/kudoz/2797280 www.proz.com/kudoz/6348256 Potrivit acestui articol despre maturitatea geologică a rocilor sursă, etapele sunt următoarele: Rocks with high total organic carbon, (termed source rocks), will alter under increasing temperature such that the organic molecules slowly mature into hydrocarbons (see diagenesis). Source rocks are therefore broadly categorised as immature (no hydrocarbon generation), sub-mature (limited hydrocarbon generation), mature (extensive hydrocarbon generation) and overmature (most hydrocarbons have been generated). https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maturity_(geology) Definiție: overmature 1. adj. [Geology] Pertaining to a hydrocarbon source rock that has generated as much hydrocarbon as possible and is becoming thermally altered. https://glossary.slb.com/en/terms/o/overmature Vezi și această întrebare ES-EN: www.proz.com/kudoz/980461 |

stadiul de supra-maturitate supramature stage Explanation: I once - over half a century ago, took a geography and geology class at English Uni. under the late Austrian Professor Dr,. Dr. Karl Sinnhuber, albeit of the German-speaking area, bilingually both in German and English. I went through and pored over his hallowed publications and monographs with a fine toothcomb, but don't recall seeing either of the first two answers. Example sentence(s):
