Born and raised in Washington DC area, I pursued my passion for language by enrolling in Japanese language school from the age of 10 years old. From 15 years old I added Mandarin Chinese to the list of languages I studied (Russian, Greek, etc), with Japanese and Chinese becoming my strongholds. After high school I went straight to Japan for university to study business at Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University, where half of my classes were conducted in the Japanese language. Afterwards, I went to China to complete a Law and Social Work degree at Huazhong University of Science and Technology in Wuhan, China. All of my classes at HUST were conducted in Chinese language. I currently hold an HSK 5 certificate and am studying for JLPT N1. I have 3+ years of teaching/tutoring experience in English (for Japanese and Chinese locals) and Chinese language (for foreign students in China), 1 year of HSK test prep tutoring for foreign students in China, 1+ year of Translated and Non-Translated Essay/Article Editing experience, 4+ years of presentation preparation, 4+ years of translated and non-translated Psychiatry/Social Work related case studies.I am looking to get into subtitling work and translation work with Japanese - English or Mandarin Chinese - English pairs! I look forward to working with you! |
