in support of
The heading is “au soutien” which translates, no more, no less, into “in support of”.
“Affidavit [giving support to; in support of] the threats received by M. X”
If we want to stress even more the value of the affidavit, we could say:
“Affidavit [corroborating; sustaining; corroboratory to] the threats received by M. X”
“Affidavit [giving support to; in support of] the threats received by M. X”
If we want to stress even more the value of the affidavit, we could say:
“Affidavit [corroborating; sustaining; corroboratory to] the threats received by M. X”

: That would work if the FR said "au soutien de la plainte" etc. But it is "in support of threats to which X was subjected."

Germaine
: Contre-sens. L'affidavit ne soutient pas une plainte (déposée ou éventuelle, on n'en sait rien); il atteste des menaces proférées.

I think this is what the author meant to say.

My fault: "threats", not "death threats".

: how do you know so much about the context???

Eliza Hall
: It doesn't say "death threats," just "threats." If you leave out "death," then your translation is probably correct but since the FR doesn't say anything re: "allegations," I would want to see more context in order to be sure.

Germaine
: "allegations" (qui ne figure pas dans le texte) m'apparaît vriament de trop. Je doute que le signataire apporte son "soutien" (témoigne/atteste) de "prétendues" menaces.

: Quite a bit of over-translation here as well
