Angol absztrakt: Surgery is one of the key elements of oncologic treatment. Surgical technology has undergone a spec - tacular development over the recent decade, however morbidity and mortality of oncologic surgery remained high. This study reports a successful introduction of a complex perioperative patient management program, called Prehabilitation N.E.W. (Nutrition-Exercise-Worry management). The Program resulted in improving postoperative morbidity and mortality of colorectal cancer patients, and a reduction of length of hospital stay. Mainly due to the benefit of sparing hospital costs of complications and reduced length of hospital stay, the new method of care was found to be cost effective. |
