Yes the Finnish was badly worded and it does refer to cancer. It was taipumus I was unsure of. Predispisition is the obvious solution, though the text also uses the word alttius. Many thanks Tarja

disagree  finnword1: paksusuolitaipumus is not an accepted Finnish word. If you Google it, you only get two hits. One refers to this ProzCom discussion, and the other to an article about abscess, which has nothing to do with cancer.

  -> Thanks, medical slang sometimes defies the norms of regular language, but the context should provide clues as to whether this refers to cancer or something else (as I mentioned in my explanation above).
