German Translator exam without college

I just found out that you can take a translator exam through the \"Staatliches Pruefungsamt\" and the University of Mainz without actually having gone to college.

The exam can be taken in different languages, with German either being the native language or the secondary language.

registration deadline for the next exam is 15 May 2002, so you have plenty of time to get your application in.

Staatliches Prüfungsamt in Darmstadt Nov 15, 2001

Hi.

That possibility has existed for some time, at least in Hesse: I passed my exam in 1997, at the \"Staatliches Prüfungsamt\" in Darmstadt. The process goes on for approx. 4 months - don\'t hesitate to contact me for details (sorry - bit too tied up to write it all down here...).
