procedure for minimizing data use on a server license running hotspot due to intermittent broadband?

Broadband keeps dropping off today. AFAIK, if it fully disconnects I lose server license even without sync on confirm setting right? Or is there a way around that?

If not, how do I minimize data usage running off phone hotspot? Or do I even need to? I have no clue how much data memoQ uses, please advise.
