Problem with membership renewal

I tried to extend my membership through the proz.com site.
The transaction went through but at the very last screen some strange error msg came up.

I checked with my credit card company and the amount was charged there.
But after checking with proz.com they said they had not charged anything.

Its still showing as a pending transaction.
So I have submitted a cancel request with my credit card,
and now I want to know if I should try to use my card

better to call them with a phone number maybe?

I dont want to run the risk of another error msg,
already have to wait 5 days for the amount to be re-credited to my card.

Has anyone else had this problem?

Already done. I am definitely getting the money back,
but I want to avoid this problem in future, thus the question.

Further, still havent received replies to two (2) of my after-replies on the support ticket.
So not fully satisfied with the support ticket idea.

Is it maybe better to call ?
