Although I have read this statement made over and over again, the facts behind it remain astonishing. The facts are that there are millions of homeless in the globe today. Many of these people had no choice but to be homeless.
Economic problems such as being laid off work, or the rise in the cost of housing had lead people to live on the streets.
Many of the homeless are women that have become divorced or have left home because of physical abuse. These women have no education because they have not been given the chance to go and get the education that it takes nowadays to get the job, so they are forced to live on the streets. They have no family to help them and they are left with no other choice.
People with mental illnesses also become homeless quite often. These people are incapable of handling the stress of living on their own. These people get kicked out of their homes and are to ashamed to go to their families because of their illness, so we see them on the streets struggling to stay warm.
Teenage mothers are also forced to live on the streets because their families will not help them. The fathers are not there and that forces them to live on the streets. So they must resort to prostitution to pay for the food that their young ones need to stay alive.
There are many other people that become homeless for many different reasons. Some of these people can not help becoming homeless.
Some of these people are the illegal immigrants that come here from other places to get a better life but end up not having enough money to make it in this hard world that we live in.
Teenage runaways have different reasons for leaving home but all have the same reason for becoming homeless. They simply just do not have enough money. Others are drug and alcohol abusers and disabled people.
With this list of people there must be some way that we can help these people.

Có đến hàng triệu người không còn sự lựa chọn nào khác ngoài việc phải chịu đựng cảnh màn trời chiếu đất không nơi nương tựa, mà dường như họ đang bất lực trong nỗi tuyệt vọng khôn cùng…
Người dân rơi vào cảnh không nhà cửa, suy cho cùng, một phần lớn do những biến động mạnh về kinh tế đã ảnh hưởng trực tiếp đến đời sống hàng ngày của họ, như việc bị sa thải hay giá nhà ở tăng cao.
Nhiều phận gái làm dâu quá khứ đã li hôn hoặc từng bị chồng bạo hành, phải bỏ nhà ra đi, sống lang bạt nay đây mai đó, vì họ không có điều kiện giáo dục đủ tốt để đáp ứng được yêu cầu việc làm trong xã hội hiện đại ngày nay. Những người phụ nữ đáng thương này cũng không có gia đình ở cạnh bên để san sẻ gánh nặng, vì vậy họ không còn sự lựa chọn nào khác ngoài là phải cam chịu thân phận không nơi nương tựa, không mái ấm tình thương.
Nhiều người khác có tâm thần bất ổn, việc họ vô gia cư là điều dễ đoán và thường xảy ra. Những người này thường bị gia đình ruồng bỏ hoặc chọn cách bỏ đi vì họ cảm thấy mặc cảm với bệnh tật của mình. Chúng ta thường nhìn thấy những cảnh đáng thương khi họ lang thang trên đường hàng ngày chống chọi với cái giá lạnh.
Ta cũng đau lòng trước thân phận của những bà mẹ tuổi thành niên buộc phải dấn thân vào con đường hành nghề mại dâm để kiếm tiền nuôi thân và cho đứa con, bởi lẽ cha của đứa trẻ không đứng ra chịu trách nhiệm và họ cũng bị chính gia đình của mình ruồng rẫy, kết cục phải sống trong cảnh màn trời chiếu đất đáng thương vô cùng.
Còn nhiều lý do khác có thể khiến con người ta trở thành những kẻ vô gia cư bất đắc dĩ.
Trong số đó có những người di cư bất hợp pháp chuyển đến nơi ở mới để tìm cuộc sống tốt hơn nhưng rốt cuộc lại không đủ khả năng để trang trải cho cuộc sống khắc nghiệt mà họ đã lựa chọn.
Nhiều thanh thiếu niên bỏ nhà ra đi với những lí do khác nhau nhưng họ đều có một nguyên nhân chung để rồi cuối cùng trở thành kẻ vô gia cư, đó là vì họ không đủ tiền. Số khác thì sa chân vào con đường nghiện ngập hoặc do bị tàn tật.
Sau tất cả những thưc tế được phơi bày ở trên thì chắc hẳn phải có một giải pháp nào đó để có thể giúp đỡ những số phận đáng thương này.
