Dear all,
I have a large file which was scanned into PDF format "raster file". When I try to print the file out, the printer/PC can not read the file; and printing process gets aborted. Is there any workaround to have the file printed/photocopied?

Many thanks in advance!

Break it up? Feb 15, 2009

Can you print page by page? I have had PDF's that were too large for my (rather old) printer's memory. They were able to print out just fine as long as I told it to print only page x to y. In a similar vein, it could not hurt to close everything and reboot before trying again.

Bon Courage!

-Jenn

Photocopying? Feb 15, 2009

Hi Jenn,

Thank you for your prompt response. Sorry for not being clear enough!
Actually the file is over 500 pages. For a printer to do it would be quite exhausting; that's why I was specifically referring to photocopying.

I have the file on a memory stick and tried to have it photocopied but in vain. The file readily opens on my PC. But when it comes to photocopying through another's PC connected to a photocopier, the process gets aborted without any clear reaso

Advice is highly appreciated!

Export to images and print in portions Feb 15, 2009

Open the file in Acrobat (NOT Reader!) and "Save as..." image. Better in PNG. Then print from any image viewer...

I had a PDF recently that printed oddly ( a font I couldn't read) but somehow I was able to print it an an image (TIF).

SCanned to PDF Feb 16, 2009

Have you tried converting it to Word using a PDF Converter. If it's just text, it should convert easily.

If you don't have a converter, send me a page and I'll try it for you.

Did you try... Feb 16, 2009

to save the page on your computer and then open it via acdc or another programm for photos?
It should then be possible to print the file.
