Shekhar Banerjee

• Experience: Right after having completed my MA in English in 1994 from Tilkamajhi Bhagalpur University (TMBU) as the batch topper (1990-92), I was lucky enough to get a clerk’s job in the Oriental Bank of Commerce. There I worked hard as a clerk-cum-cashier-cum-computer operator gaining in valuable experience as a banker working in almost all departments of the branch; and by dint of my diligent and disciplined service I was able to win pleasure of my employers. For about 9 years I was passionately engrossed in the service of that high performing and well disciplined Bank.
Then, in the year 2003, I felt deeply inspired by a divine impulse to go for my spiritual advancement; for the fulfilment whereof I resigned from my job and joined an Ashram. There I had been rendering selfless service in the mode of translating, proof-reading and editing its flagship magazine, besides composing official letters and taking care of other publications of the ashram.
Having achieved a great deal of spiritual advancement I left that ashram for home in 2007 and tried my luck in the teaching line first where I could deliver my recently attained divine knowledge to the students and thereby to society easily enough. I joined a school where my knowledge of English besides that of spiritual and moral principles were appreciated well and I continued there for about six months, for I couldn’t bear the great deal of travelling that the job entailed.
Next, I started a coaching centre for guiding anybody and everybody in English. Students came and learnt a lot from me but the packaged system of education that they required was not available at my place; for I like to give a succinct but comprehensive knowledge of the language. So I began to get employees and housewives as my students. Teaching them was a great experience too. They came either to get a promotion in their respective jobs or to get enough knowledge of the language to deal with the home-works of their wards. But they would talk much and won’t like to be disciplined; hence I abandoned that idea as well.
And finally, I resumed my life once again with translation, proof-reading, content writing and editing as my breadwinner, which gives me a great deal of job-satisfaction too. Recently, I have completed about a 100 page translation job as a freelancer from English to Hindi with great satisfaction of the client. However, I am open to all sorts of services that are legal in every respect and can be done without losing my personal honesty and integrity.
