Hi;

I have a large PDF file. It has as well-organized TOC. But, when I converted into MS Word -as you expected-, the TOC structure was lost.

After completing translation on this Word file, now I need to align numbers in TOC (that's part of my responsibility as well). Is there any easy way to align these numbers which can be seen as follows:

1. Heading 1......................1
2. Heading 2.................5
3. Heading 3...........................

5. Heading 5.................12

In here, 1, 5, 7, 9, 12 are page numbers of TOC.

I use MS Office 2007.

Thanks in advance.

Hamid.

Why don´t you Sep 19, 2011

just recreate a TOC in your Word file?

It's a rather straightforward process. Nothing fancy.

Large File Sep 19, 2011

The file is around 800 pages and TOC is about 10 pages.

So, I need a quicker way to make the TOC proper.

Rephrasing Sep 19, 2011

Then I need to rephrase my question.

Does anybody know how to align numbers in Table of Contents which was previously a TOC but not anymore due to converting from PDF into Word?

By the way, these numbers have dots to the left.

it's again a piece of cake Sep 19, 2011

If one doesn't like to create a TOC in his/her document automatically by pressing a button there is an easy way to do it manually

Key words -- leaders and tab

the problem Sep 19, 2011

seems to be that you have aligned the numbers using empty spaces.

Setting a tab and substituting tab spaces (key TAB on a keyboard) for empty spaces (spacebar on a keyboard) will do the trick
