I walk my dog off road for at least an hour a day, which gives me a breath of fresh air and exercise, and takes me away from the PC screen for a while. If I didn't have Loki, I'd probably end up just sitting in front of the computer working all day.
I've got one dog, a 12 year-old French bulldog. She isn’t exactly mine – she belongs to my daughter – but for the last two years I have been taking care of her while my daughter is working in Mexico. The problem is I can't imagine life without her. Going for a walk is my fresh air time, I wouldn't leave my desk otherwise! She gets me out in all weathers (it’s raining cats and dogs out there today and we have just come back from our walk) and make sure I stay kind of fit. She doesn’t he... My cat "helps" me by sitting on my keyboard, purring, and trying to catch my cursor on my computer screen. This gets a lot of work done.

The longer you work, the more you feel that you are not necessary -- there's always someone can do the daily task you are doing, there's always someone can actually replace you.
But, when you finish you day, come back home, the way your dog looks at you, just make you realize, you, for this guy, is so important, what this little guy did for the whole day is waiting for you coming back home.
Feel so thankful for having a pet, this little guys cured me.

When my 2 years old cat messes up, I get a bit angry with him, but he can keep my spirit high and add a little comic relief.
He can have a contagious and a good sense of humor.

Our dog died about 18 months ago and it's saved me about five hours a week in toilet walks - that's helped me no end!

Unfortunately, I don't have a pet right now. I had several dogs in my life, but living in apartments, I don't feel well making the poor creature stay locked at home until someone walks him. I intend to move back to a house as soon as I can, and that will be one of the first "measures" I'll take.
Right now, I have a small aquarium. Does that count?

My 15-year-old dog died last May. She always lay beside me in her bed when I was working and was great moral support. She hadn't been able to walk outside, except for quick trips, for about 6 months. I miss her a lot!
