Dear Colleagues,
I don't know if it has ever happened to you but 2 months ago I put a bid for a job here at Proz and next day I got an e-mail saying my bid had been successful. Contacted the outsourcer/agency several times to request they send the files to me and never got any response. It is weird isn't it? That goes to say (as we say in Spanish but hopefully you'll understand) who 'holds the soucepan by the handle'(sorry I don't know how it translate).

I'm not sure if I really got your point here... is there anything you would like ProZ.com (or moderators) to do, or are you just trying to find out if this has happened to others?
Bear in mind that the ProZ.com job system only establishes a connection between a job poster and a service provider - the site has no control over, and is not a party to, the bilateral agreement that may (or may not) follow.

In so many years on Proz I have received twice the "Congratulations, your bid has been successful" and in both cases nothing more (no job, no e-mails from the outsourcers and so on). In both cases I have not enquired, nor insisted .
I think (but I'm not sure) that it may be tha some outsourcer decides to close the bid and closes and pushes every possible button. Or maybe this button (to send the message) can be useful for kee... What I mean (but I'm not sure of as I've never posted a job) is that I think in those two cases I was not the only one who received the congratulation message, by error of the outsourcer or by not knowing the system well.

I don't know if there is something that can be done but now that I see that it has happened to other colleagues I think Proz staff/support should look into it, whether it is too easy to click on the wrong botton or whatever the reason.

ProZ.com have initiated a redesign of the jobs process - the streamlining of the jobs form and the accompanying processes are part of that development.

It is very possible. I had few ones that never arrived. A lot of times the person that puts the job up, may decide to cancel the job and so forth. In one case, I had a small one 300 pages or so, only showed up a week later when I was engaged on a 75000 word manual, which I got from an old client. Anyhow, I didn't say no. I was able to give that to someone else in my network to do. Don't loose sleep over the successful ones, just try to get jobs from other people and other venues. Good luck!

Many thanks. this happens constantly. It had happened to me more than 10 times. I had recd. the news note recd. in my mail, the outsourcer was out of wind and says he is collecting material, but after a while you don´t hear anything. The answer my friend is blowing in the wind!!! that is it.
