Conference feedback

Very useful and complete insight on the possibilities and resources for interpreters looking for better work sources. Many recommendations also apply to translators.

Thank you for this amazing opportunity for learning and getting expert advice.

The 3-day event is a wonderful opportunity to learn about so many different aspects of the language industry. But, horror of horrors!! At the bottom of the page, a line reads "The following exhibitors are in there booths, ready to answer your questions." Can it be true that at an event for LINGUISTS, this blatant misuse of "there" instead of "their" can appear on your page? Has noone else brought this to your attention? It´s terribly discrediting for your organization to hire people that don´t know how to use "there", "their" and "they´re" properly You need an editor/reviewer, to avoid this from happening again. Let me know if I can be of assistance ;)

Thanks for all important information!

I appreciate the opportunity to access the recording of the sessions and watch them at a convenient time, since my time zone was not ideal for following and actively participating. The chats were probably already past peak time when I joined. I hope to be able to follow one of the live sessions on Saturday.

Time From To Content
11:49 Jun 26, 2014 Laura Ester Hernández: 1056313 All ok..
11:49 Jun 26, 2014 Florencia de la Torre: 88099 All And the last, it is so pity that you can import to another TM the sdltm directly... cannot understand how such a simple thing was not thought
11:49 Jun 26, 2014 Paule NTAMACK: 789412 All It is quite interesting, but the product is not sold in my country (Cameroon). I guess I can buy it on the internet, but I would really appreciate if you could aso sell your products in Africa, particularly in Cameroon where the translation industry is developed.
11:49 Jun 26, 2014 RWS Community: 716737 All You can do this using the merge feature.
11:49 Jun 26, 2014 Thierry Bonhomme: 1119875 All I was working with Trados 7 I guess and Tageditor.
11:49 Jun 26, 2014 RWS Community: 716737 All It achieves exactly the same thing.
11:50 Jun 26, 2014 SDL_Steve: 1242940 All Ok so an old version
11:50 Jun 26, 2014 SDL_Guillaume: 1660157 All and you did not upgrade yet, if I understand correctly?
11:50 Jun 26, 2014 Thierry Bonhomme: 1119875 All Yes.
11:50 Jun 26, 2014 SDL_Steve: 1242940 All Have you seen our free getting started guides?
11:50 Jun 26, 2014 Laura Ester Hernández: 1056313 All not yet...
11:50 Jun 26, 2014 RWS Community: 716737 All https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AFYqXJVyraM&index=3&list=PL8CNk55xmmDUXg-LdYcqxPHfCAhzzOl0j
11:50 Jun 26, 2014 Florencia de la Torre: 88099 All Yes, yes I know that.. but why engineers do not "keep it simple"
11:50 Jun 26, 2014 RWS Community: 716737 All That would be too easy :-)
11:51 Jun 26, 2014 Laura Ester Hernández: 1056313 All I am willing to migrate...do you recommend it..
11:51 Jun 26, 2014 Laura Ester Hernández: 1056313 All ?
11:51 Jun 26, 2014 SDL_Guillaume: 1660157 All if I understand correctly, Support has informed you that the solution would be to migrate to Studio 2014
11:51 Jun 26, 2014 Florencia de la Torre: 88099 All Well, I'll check, thanks a lot for your time and suggestions!! Nice day to you!
11:51 Jun 26, 2014 Thierry Bonhomme: 1119875 All Yes, I have looked into the files and I have followed a getting started training. One thing I am uneasy about is iI never find where the package TM physically is?
11:51 Jun 26, 2014 RWS Community: 716737 All It is a little trickier though because of the fields and other language resource settings that can vary. So you need more control over the options as they are merged.
11:51 Jun 26, 2014 RWS Community: 716737 All You too.
11:51 Jun 26, 2014 RWS Community: 716737 All Bye
11:51 Jun 26, 2014 Laura Ester Hernández: 1056313 All that is correct...
11:51 Jun 26, 2014 keelin feeney: 665560 All Hi all, I am in the same position as Thierry with Trados 7 and TagEditor and I am reluctant to make the changeover as I am very happy as I am.
11:52 Jun 26, 2014 SDL_Steve: 1242940 All Hi Keelin
