Conference feedback

Great event. I found presentations very illuminating

Very useful, as usual :) Got information about new version of SDL Trados'17.

Very interesting!

While not being able to attend each session for obvious reasons (I am thinking of taking a day off next year!), what I saw and heard being discussed was extremely useful for all translators. Thanks for organising this interesting and relevant event, and for the possibility of downloading individual presentations on demand!

15:01 Jun 6, 2014 Peter Motte: 30753 All Are your prices part of your conditions?
15:01 Jun 6, 2014 César Yamandú Sánchez Franco: 35323 All I don't have a trick or strategy
15:02 Jun 6, 2014 Peter Motte: 30753 All Ah, thats what you mean.
15:02 Jun 6, 2014 César Yamandú Sánchez Franco: 35323 All yes, I study the text, the offer of the client and simply reply with my acceptance or my own offer
15:03 Jun 6, 2014 César Yamandú Sánchez Franco: 35323 All if the offer is not good, I explain why, if it is for the technical content or other reason...
15:03 Jun 6, 2014 Peter Motte: 30753 All I'm off for some coffee. I stay online.
15:04 Jun 6, 2014 starlightaloud: 1624756 All i can negotiate up to some point, but if i find the offer tending towards offensive, i simply refuse it
15:05 Jun 6, 2014 Peter Motte: 30753 All I'm back.
15:05 Jun 6, 2014 César Yamandú Sánchez Franco: 35323 All I think we should not consider an offer offensive, simply not accept it.
15:06 Jun 6, 2014 Peter Motte: 30753 All I also start with taking a good look at the text. You have to. Some clients don't have a clue about what they're sending you. Even if they know, eg, that it's a technical text, or a medical text, they don't always seem to know that there are lots of sub specialisations.
15:06 Jun 6, 2014 Lucia Leszinsky: 855539 All Do you have a maximum percentage in mind that you know you are willing to give up when negotiating with clients?

15:07 Jun 6, 2014 Peter Motte: 30753 All I think he meant "reacting unfriendly" when he said "offensive"
15:07 Jun 6, 2014 starlightaloud: 1624756 All a, sorry, my name is Vinita and i'm female
15:08 Jun 6, 2014 Peter Motte: 30753 All Then why are you starlightaloud?
15:08 Jun 6, 2014 Peter Motte: 30753 All Previous member of Girls Aloud?
15:08 Jun 6, 2014 starlightaloud: 1624756 All no!
